As the knife plunged through Jane's stomach, she fell down on the floor, and landed in a supine position. While the rebels continue to raze through the city, Jane was being sent to the hospital. The nurses moved fast and quickly brought her to the operating table. The doctor examined her and realized that the knife had contained a lethal poison. She was doomed to die.

Jane's parents greived as the doctor told them the saddening news. Many deaths have been caused by the havoc the rebels created. Though they did not have any mammoth sized tanks, the city was destroyed in just a few days.

This was the third time i importuned my sister if she could help me with my homework."For the third time, no!" she replied."You have to do it yourself!". I was doing my homework at the last minute, i had lessons an hour later! Though the questions were quite simple, the time i had left was not propitious. I did not have enough time. Since my sister would not help me, i eventuated in curtailing my answers, giving sloppy work.

I had already surmised that my teacher would scold me. So i was not surprised when i was being called up. I guess last minute work can never be completed on time.

WORDS USED-meticulous, lax, fruitless, obviate, conjecture

Vivian grimaced with pain as the doctor meticulously out on the cast for her. "Why are you so lax to fall into the drain?" scolded her mother. Vivian looked up at her mother. It was only the beginning of the holidays and she had a bad fall. And the doctor had announced that it would take 3 to 4 weeks to recover and because the pain was unbearable so she had to stay in the hospital for a week. "What? That means i have to be bed-ridden for a week?" she complained. "I am feeling fine now. Can i go home then?"she tried to walk to prove to them but she fell again. It was fruitless, she still had to stay in the hospital.

As she conjectured what she could do during the holidays with a fractured leg, she realised that there was nothing much to do. Vivian sighed, obviating any chances of having a fun holiday.

HOBBIES

Stamp collecting, card games, creative and artistic pursuits. All these are examples of hobbies. I guess many have them, right? Hobbies are a unique expression of ourselves and in some ways also a way to interact with the rest of the world. Hobbies, for some people, are the most important part of their life, while others use it as a relaxing escape from stress.

However, there are people who make a living with their hobby. A chef might like cooking as a hobby; or a game tester might enjoy playing and (helping to debug) computer games as hobby. Generally, people who makes a living from what they like to do are usually called amateurs or hobbyists. Many amatuers have made great contributions to this society.

Do you collect things to keep like postage stamps? This hobby of collecting is one of the most common hobbies. It consists of collecting specific items based on one's interests. These collections are very often organized, carefully cataloged and displayed attractively. Since the collection depends on the collector's interests, the collection may deal with almost any subject.

Some may not like collecting but this is only one of the examples of hbbies. Of course there are many more, like playing games. Due to the fact that a wide variety of activities are enjoyable, many many different types of games are created. What creates an enjoyable game? Well, this varies from person to person. Usually, age, understanding of the game, intelligence level, and to some extent, personalities are factors that determine what games a person enjoys.

Its always good to follow a favourite pastime to pass time. Hobbies are usually for personal interests and enjoyment, rather than for financial rewards.
